Penthouse in Berlin
Two real estate units were bought by a Berlin art gallery owner to create a large apartment on the top floor of a building that was the seat of the city’s bakers union at the time.
The intervention had various phases in which various possibilities were studied: in the end, it was decided to keep the two large pre-existing rooms and reserve the night area in a more private area of the house, working on light and details. Such as having defined a texture of monochromatic mosaic tiles on the entire western perimeter wall as an aesthetic thread.
The entire coordination of design, renovation and finishing works was carried out with great logistical effort from our office in Piacenza, to ensure maximum design control and therefore the highest quality: even the workers involved in the intervention are all from Piacenza. An example of an “international” intervention that does not renounce at the great value of local excellence.
Attic AT
The work in question – the renovation of an apartment on the top floor of an elegant condominium – has involved all the phases of construction: the preliminary feasibility analysis, the presentation of the practices, the closing of the connecting staircase to the floor below, the construction of the outside terrace, the replacement of the fixtures and the reconstruction of the systems. The disposability and aesthetic culture of the client allowed us to work with extreme freedom on interior finishes and furnishings, opting for white resin on the floor and walls in chromatic contrast with the raw iron of the fixtures and with the warm recessed lights. All this, together with a wide use of glass, make the space fluid and welcoming. The close collaboration with trusted suppliers and artisans has also contributed to making the space harmonious and unique.
DF Mansion
The intervention is part of a larger project to recover a building with a neo-Gothic style of the early 1900s: the client has instructed us to follow the internal restructuring leaving us a certain compositional freedom.
The 200 sqm housing plan connected two bodies of the building with a jump of about 135 cm.
First of all, the areas of the house had to be divided according to a well-defined path and it was immediately necessary to solve the theme of the internal staircase, solved with large treads, as a recreation of an amphitheatre. The large living room is located at the end of the slope, the area has a baseboard by a gasbeton hoof coated in resin that has become the chosen surface finish of the whole house.
This has led to an extreme simplification of the finishes, where the horizontal surfaces are large monochrome canvas while the vertical parts have been solved in furniture, with rustic oak wood and with corten steel structures. The remaining walls were finished in marble.
For the living room area with a considerable height, where the original trusses structures were recovered, the project provided a wooden and iron wall containing all the kitchen service equipment, ventilation machines, fireplace, various cabinets and a storage room and technical area. At the top of these blocks a plasterboard shelf and corten cuts in two the volume allowing the development of the wooden ceiling and favoring the lighting with a perimeter of LED lights.
The operational area of the kitchen consists in a soft touch and steel island by Bulthaup in which the extraction of fume is managed with ducts inserted inside the screed. The area below the large living area is structured with three bedrooms and three bathrooms of various sizes: intentionally in this area the partition walls have been composed only in the bathroom area, while the rest of the partitions have been solved with an accurate carpentry and plasterboard work. In the numerous cabinets that make up the main façade, the machinery for forced ventilation, air conditioning systems and the plumbing and heating system manifolds have been inserted. This has allowed for greater speed of execution and careful planning of the recirculation air flows to allow the house to maintain a very high energy efficiency threshold. The project plan concludes with a small terrace closed on all four sides made with salvaged masonry and flooring in continuum with the interior. We believe the focal point of the operation is the splendid perspective corridor that was created from the union of the fenced perimeter of the terrace to the dining table, strategically placed in the meeting position of the vision lines.
Milanofiori Contract
Active participation in the renovation of the spaces of the Milanofiori CC in Assago.
The client, a major international player, has submitted us an order for the construction of a Food Court and for the supply of all the furnishings of the common areas.
Much of the work was carried out by Piacenza artisans, under the supervision of our studio.
Articulated structures in wood, ceramic and stone have been created to divide the rooms.
The upholstery and the finishes are highly resistant to fire, both were designed and produced in Italy and Spain. The flooring of the relaxation islands was laid using specialized workers and a special custom-made edging was performed by our blacksmiths to ensure tightness and stability to withstand the passage of thousands of people.
The entire installation process was carried out during the night to avoid inconvenience to customers.
A considerable effort for a lightweight structure like ours, the excellent result of which allowed us to participate in the national tender for the award of contracts for the Klepierre centers in Italy.
Contest that we won.
Mezzanine CC
A large room in a building in the city center.
The client instructs us to carve out a reserved space to devote to reading, music and rest.
The considerable height of the premises allows us to propose a loft construction.
It was decided to exploit the space below for walk-in closet use, while a staircase made of light iron profiles and wooden tiles allows access to a mezzanine.
With just a few selected pieces of furniture, everything is completed.
Penthouse in Prague
A stately home in the heart of the old city, very near from the Synagogue. From the balconies the view sweeps over buildings and courtyards of various types, in the background the Vltava and the castle. The design of the interior spaces and finishes took into account the constraints imposed by the superintendency, so the flooring, windows and iron details dating back to the time of construction were recovered. In this context we have inserted technical elements and contemporary pieces taking care of aspects that were requested to us from the beginning, sobriety and elegance.
Villa interior renovation
Complex and radical renovation of a small villa in the countryside. The existing structure was completely emptied to start over again, redrawing spaces suitable for a family of 5. A large living room in which as a sign of continuity was maintained the old family table in chestnut, a careful study of private spaces that allowed to obtain 3 bathrooms and a multifunctional space for the hobbies of the inhabitants. A long perspective line is accompanied by a cut of light that binds the whole house together.
AG House
A contemporary building houses owes the house to design. The owner, a young professional, instructed us to follow all the finishes and furnishings. A job that, thanks to the availability and kindness of the client, has allowed us to work with materials and objects very dear to us. Few signs for a welcoming and very comfortable environment.
